Navy to lay off 3,000 mid-career sailors
Tue Nov 22, 2011
I have a better idea that will save the country even more money: lay off ALL career politicians with 7 to 14 years of service. Only in America can you get canned in a job where you willingly risk your life. You would think that should count for something...
Three new heavy elements named
Fri Nov 4, 2011
I agree. An element should be something that is pure, stable, and found in nature. The text saying that an "element that falls apart into other elements" is highly inaccurate; something that breaks down into elements is by definition a compound.
'Let us go!': About 700 arrested in Wall Street protest
Sat Oct 1, 2011
Are these the early rumblings of the second American Revolution? Wall Street and Washington D.C. had better take notice...
Al-Awlaki's death will instill al-Qaida with 'sense of doom,' US military official says
Sat Oct 1, 2011
Those who create terrorism are usually not on the front lines; they are the ones who think up the insanity or persuade others to do the killing for them. Are these people innocent because they didn't plant the bombs or fly the planes? No, pure and simple. We are in a de facto state …
$16 muffins? Federal report details costly conferences
Wed Sep 21, 2011

Rough week: $2.5 trillion wiped off value of world stocks
Sun Aug 7, 2011
Gee, what's next? We moved to a "world economy" and we've been losing our collective asses ever since. Little insignificant countries like Iceland and Greece make our stock market look like a roller coaster, with steeper drops coming all the time, and more frequently.
Even the crashes are stylish: Million-dollar wreck in Monaco
Thu Jul 28, 2011
Maybe they should stick to driving camels...
NASA's space shuttle blasts off ... for the last time ever
Fri Jul 8, 2011
I couldn't watch this launch knowing it was the last one. I remember the Mercury project when I was nine. We landed on the moon when I was a teen. I'm 56 now and I feel an enormous loss at the retirement of what's left of the shuttle fleet. I also feel great …
Global Internet body to unleash domain names
Mon Jun 20, 2011
After reading this article I remembered a line by a fictional character in a movie who said "The more they overthink the plumbing the easier it is to plug up the drain." Well, here we go....
Watching 'Jersey Shore' might make you dumber, study suggests
Fri Jun 17, 2011
Why in the world would ANYONE even care about a bunch of Jersey wannabes? If you really want to see a bunch of witless meatheads and silicone hos then I guess it's your perogitive. As for the shows themselves making you dumber, well DUH, YO.
